The story centers on Riko, a young orphan who lives in Orth, on an island in the Beoluska Sea. The city surrounds a strange giant hole whose bottom goes deep into the earth. This hole is known as the Abyss. Within the Abyss are mysterious abandoned artifacts and remains of an advanced civilization that disappeared millennia ago and is, therefore, a site explored by bounty hunter excavators called Cave Raiders, who undertake arduous and dangerous descents to obtain all the relics they can find.

7. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun (2014)

Chiyo Sakura, a high school student, is in love with her classmate Umetaro Nozaki. When she plucks up her courage and confesses her love to him, he mistakes her for a fan and gives her an autograph. Wanting to fix the confusion, she tells him that she means that she always wants to be with him, so he invites her to his house and has her help him with some manuscripts. Chiyo discovers that Nozaki is a renowned shōjo mangaka named Sakiko Yumeno, so Chiyo agrees to be his assistant to be closer to him.

8. Devilman Crybaby (2018)

From the legendary Go Nagai comes this modern adaptation of a classic. Devilman tells the story of Akira Fudou, a soft-hearted boy, who when asked by a childhood friend for help discovering demons, he accepts without hesitation. In this mission, Akira is possessed by the demon Amon and transforms into the Devilman, gaining the power to destroy the remaining demons.

9. Ping Pong the Animation (2014)

Despite having very different personalities, high school youth Yutaka Hoshino named Peco and Makoto Tsukimoto nicknamed Smile, have been friends since childhood. They are both talented athletes and members of the Katase High School table tennis club. Peco is defeated by an exchange student from China, causing him such devastation that he stops practicing. On the other hand, Smile’s personality prevents him from winning against Peco; but Coach Jō is aware of the young man’s potential and tries to motivate him to overcome all his obstacles.
