What Disney movie should I watch?
So prepare the snacks, make yourself comfortable in your armchair, turn off the lights and let the magic of the cinema begin from the comfort of your home and in the company of your whole family.
1. Ratatouille (2007)
The rat can cook! This ridiculously cute movie is about an innocent and ambitious rodent named Remy, who longs to become a great chef, is witty, intelligent, gently moral, and dramatically compelling. And who doesn’t love Linguini, a hopeless human puppet which the supremely talented Remy controls? Will they win against the villain, a power-crazed food critic named Anton Ego? We won’t say more to spoil the fun for those three people out there who don’t know the ending yet.
2. Beauty and the Beast (1991)
A smug prince gets a spoonful of his own medicine in this 90s fairy tale. A spell turns royalty into a ferocious beast and cannot be undone until he falls in love and is reciprocated despite his appearance. When the Beast kidnaps the town watchmaker, his beautiful daughter comes to the rescue, and the Beast’s too.
3. 101 Dalmatians (1961)
There is true love between Pongo and Perdita! Fortunately for puppies, they too can force their owners out. In this world, there is nothing but canine happiness until the moody Cruela de Vil appears. She has her sights set on Perdita’s puppies to make fur coats out of them.
4. Coco (2017)
After some dubious efforts, at least by its own lofty standards, Pixar follows the vein of Intensa-mente (Pete Docter, Artie Mandelberg, 2011) with a Mexico-set adventure that bubbles with wit and boldness. It’s easy to slip effortlessly between this children’s show and the emotion that – rips your heart out – through surreal and fantastical touches.
5. Zootopia (2016)
Disney’s 55th animated film is a story about a character’s perseverance and struggles to fulfill a dream despite obstacles, although issues such as equality, friendship, and tolerance towards others are also addressed. This thanks to its protagonist’s experiences, a nice bunny named Judy Hopps, who does everything she can to achieve her goal of becoming a police officer.
6. Lady and the Tramp (1955)
A sophisticated cocker spaniel and a puppy from the wrong side of the road fall in love in this irresistible canine romance. Generations later, we keep fading into the classic spaghetti scene between the two furry guys.
7. Lady and the Tramp (2019)
This updated live-action version of the classic brings a realistic comedy and drama twist to the latest canine meeting. And yes, the spaghetti scene is here in all its glory.
8. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)
Talk about jealousy at its finest. An evil witch simply cannot tolerate the beauty of her stepdaughter and this contempt takes him further to take the life of young Snow White. However, the queen becomes the laughing stock when Snow White appears safe and sound living in a cozy little house in the company of seven dwarves. This is when the queen tries her task again: she transforms into an old woman who offers the beautiful princess a poisoned apple, which leaves her unconscious. You can only get rid of the spell with the kiss of true love.
